How to change the Junk Scan settings

SparkTrust Inspector has a junk scan to clear out redundant or non-required files that are created by windows or automated programs. Clearing these files gives your computer more space, and can prevent some security risks.

To select specific folders or drives to scan:

  1. Click the Settings button.
  2. Then click Junk Settings.
  3. The areas to be scanned are displayed under Folders to scan
  4. Click Add Item and you will be able to add a new location on your computer to the scan.
  5. To stop scanning a folder click that folder, then click Remove.

You can also scan for specific file types by their extension. Please use extreme caution if adding new file types to be removed, as recovery can be very difficult.

To scan for a specific file extension:

  1. Click the Settings button.
  2. Then click Junk Settings.
  3. File extensions to be scanned are listed under the heading Extensions to scan
  4. You can remove an extension by clicking it on the list, then clicking Remove.
  5. You can add an extension by typing it in the field below, then clicking Add.
